The storage and maintenance of Diesel generators are important for ensuring their long-term reliability and extending their service life. The following are precautions for storage and maintenance:
1、 Preparation before storage
Thoroughly clean: Before storage, the Diesel generator should be thoroughly cleaned to remove surface dust, oil stains, and debris. Clean the air filter, fuel filter, and oil filter, and replace them if necessary.
Inspection and maintenance: Check the various performance indicators of the generator to ensure that it is stored in good condition. Replace the engine oil and oil filter to ensure the lubrication system is clean. Check and fill up the coolant to prevent corrosion of the cooling system. Check the battery level and charge or replace it if necessary to avoid battery vulcanization.
Fuel treatment: Drain the fuel tank or add fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel deterioration. If it is decided to empty the fuel tank, it should be ensured that there is no residual fuel in the fuel system to avoid corrosion and blockage.
2、 Storage environment
Dry ventilated generators should be stored in a dry and well ventilated place, avoiding moisture and corrosive gases. The storage location should be away from flammable and explosive materials to ensure safety.
Suitable temperature: Avoid high or low temperature environments to prevent equipment aging or damage. If the storage location has a low temperature, measures should be taken to keep warm and prevent the coolant from freezing.
Dust and rodent prevention: Install dust covers to prevent dust and foreign objects from entering the equipment. Take measures to prevent small animals such as mice from gnawing on cables and wires.
3、 Maintenance during storage
Regular inspection: Check the generator at regular intervals (such as monthly) to ensure its good condition. Check the battery voltage and charge it if necessary. Check for leaks or damage in the fuel system, cooling system, and lubrication system.
Start up operation: If stored for a long time (such as more than 6 months), the Diesel generator should be started regularly for a period of time (such as 30 minutes) to lubricate engine components and prevent rusting. Before starting, check the oil, coolant, and fuel levels, and ensure that the battery is fully charged.
Record and maintain files: Establish a storage and maintenance file for the Diesel generator, recording the status of each inspection, maintenance, and start-up operation. By maintaining records, the historical maintenance status of the generator can be tracked, providing reference for future maintenance work.
4、 Other precautions
Safety warning: Set up safety warning signs at the storage location to remind personnel to pay attention to safety. Ensure that all safety devices (such as fire extinguishers, emergency stop buttons, etc.) are intact and functional.
If the Diesel generator malfunctions or requires professional maintenance during storage, professional personnel should be contacted promptly for repair.
